AUSSIE FILM REVIEW - 2.18.09 - "A Day in the Life"

I really liked the student film [A Day in the Life] on so many levels...

A. It's a student film and I love the idea that kids are doing stuff like this instead of sitting around watching TV and playing Xbox.

B. The message is great and the fact they felt it is important gives me some hope about the future!

I particularly like the part in the supermarket, as my particular passion is to 'eat local.'  I can't stand the packaging that goes into products on supermarket shelves. I'd noticed it years ago in the UK and the US and always thought, 'It's so great we don't do that in Australia'... Well we do now and it sucks... That's before we even mention the fact that most of the fruit and veggies have been in cold storage for 3 months!!!! Doesn't seem that anyone has an idea of 'seasonal' anymore.

Anyway, sorry I'll get off my soapbox as I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted.... particularly passionate about this! Great work. I'm really proud that you're doing well. Keep me posted on what your up to next.

Jordan Howard

ECHS Student  Featured Speaker at Electronic Vehicle Event

Putting her unique Environmental Charter High School training to use outside the classroom, 16-year-old Jordan Howard was a featured speaker on the program at Plug In America.  The largest event of its kind, Plug In America assembled 75 'plug-in' vehicles to rally and then drive in formation through the streets of Los Angeles.  Howard said in her speech "Automakers! please wake up and help make the next generation petroleum free." Governments can help with incentives, and consumers can pick Electric Vehicles," she said.

Ms. Howard is the director of "A Day in the Life."
